In the world of Indian tribes, there are the warriors and non-warriors. The Kiowa are warriors; skilled, powerful, and deadly to animal and man. They fought with other tribes both near and far. They were a hunter/gatherer people and the name Kiowa means the 'true or principle people."
Pa is in his mid-thirties and his war-bonnet tells the tale, that there have been many battles won. Unfortunately, he has experienced much loss, with the deaths of his son and wife in a battle with another tribe. When Pa loses his older brother, the grief is renewed and he takes the loss hard. The only way he can bare to move on, is with his brother's memory and on behalf of his nephews.
Kiowa's birth is a time of joy and of loss. His father had been the Kiowa tribe chief and had been recently murdered. Kiowa was named after the tribe, as he is the tribe's hope for a strong future. As a young man, we has made the tribe proud, killing their ferocious enemy. Kiowa's life is forever changed when his path crosses that of a Hopi Princess.

The Hopi are an agricultural people who works the land and then trade for commerce They have a special relationship with the land that gives them life, and they believe it's sacred. The Hopi see all things as spiritual and strive towards reverence towards all things. Rather than living in tipis, they live in clay huts, which are often called pueblos.
Anoki is the daughter of the Hopi Chief, and as such, she is a princess. As a little girl, she strove towards oneness towards all things living, feeling a special closeness to the earth. Walpi is Anoki's younger brother from the Hopi tribe. A farmer with a earnest spirit, he somehow gets caught up in his sister's star-crossed love adventure!
Currimpaw, NM is a fertile region surrounded by rivers in the high lands of New Mexico. The lands are both beautiful and fierce. A wide desert surrounds this small oasis. The locals there are cattle ranchers and a few towns folk that supply the ranches.
W.H. is a renown Canadian wolf hunter in the prime of his life. He drops out of university when the prospect arrises to make money, spend his day on the open land, and rid this world of the cursed wolf. He, Bingo (his dog) and Cotton (his horse) travel by steamship, railroad and horseback from Winnipeg to CIMARRON, NM where the wolf pack has been wreaking havoc on the farm animals in the valley.
WH sets up in this shack while spending time in the Cimarron. He doesn't need much while he's there, just a roof over head, and a place to scheme. It's his mission to prove he is THE Wolf Hunter.
