KIOWAKiowa's birth is a time of joy and of loss. His father had been the Kiowa tribe chief and had been recently murdered. Kiowa was named after the tribe, as he is the tribe's hope for a strong future. As a young man, we has made the tribe proud, killing their ferocious enemy. Kiowa's life is forever changed when his path crosses that of a Hopi Princess.

ONENDAHOnendah too has felt loss from the tomahawk, but he choses to commune with her wife's spirit to mourn her. He is a medicine man with the power to communicate with his tribe and the stars. No magic is beyond the understanding of Onendah and he uses this power to protect, preserve, and to even transform his young friends!

PAPa is in his mid-thirties and his war-bonnet tells the tale, that there have been many battles won. Unfortunately, he has experienced much loss, with the deaths of his son and wife in a battle with another tribe. When Pa loses his older brother, the grief is renewed and he takes the loss hard. The only way he can bare to move on, is with his brother's memory and on behalf of his nephews.

HOPI TRIBEThe Hopi are an agricultural people who works the land and then trade for commerce They have a special relationship with the land that gives them life, and they believe it's sacred. The Hopi see all things as spiritual and strive towards reverence towards all things. Rather than living in tipis, they live in clay huts, which are often called pueblos.

ANOKIAnoki is the daughter of the Hopi Chief, and as such, she is a princess. As a little girl, she strove towards oneness towards all things living, feeling a special closeness to the earth. In her young womanhood, she wants to be a good representative of her tribe, to make her father proud. But the day she meets Kiowa, a Kiowa tribe warrior, her values and goals change. Anoki changes, forever.

W.H., THE WOLF HUNTERW.H. is a renown Canadian wolf hunter in the prime of his life. He drops out of university when the prospect arrises to make money, spend his day on the open land, and rid this world of the cursed wolf. He, Bingo (his dog) and Cotton (his horse) travel by steamship, railroad and horseback from Winnipeg to CIMARRON, NM where the wolf pack has been wreaking havoc on the farm animals in the valley.

WH's ShackWH sets up in this shack while spending time in the Cimarron. He doesn't need much while he's there, just a roof over head, and a place to scheme. It's his mission to prove he is THE Wolf Hunter.
